right z axis stepper skips

Hello, everybody.
My Mk3 kit printer has the problem that everytime i use the first layer calibration or stop a print, the printer moves the z axis up as it should(its the last movement the printer makes to move the extruder up and away from the print), but the right motor makes clicking noise at the end of the z movement. This skips results in an misaligned x axis which cause basicly just failed prints or no print at all because it displays the error message "bed leveling failed. sensor triggered too high. waiting for reset." after the 2 or 3 bed leveling point.
I dont know where the problem is!

My work around is to calibrate the z axis before every print and then adjust the z high on the fly.

Does someone know how to fix this issue?

Could the screws on the ends of the X axis Smooth rods be tightened too much, causing friction in the Z axis?

The screws are no longer used in the MK3.

But i would also guess that there is too much friction.

Is there a difference in normal vs. stealth mode ?

The selftest finished ok (i guiess it did since you are printing...)

I have the same issue also. I have tried all sorts.

  • loosening the x-axis belt, which was a pain.

  • checked the dust cover on the lead screw.

  • checked that the linear bearing were setup correct 45° from each other

  • adjusted the screws holding the z stepper motor to make sure the leadscrew is centred

  • made sure the plastic on the top holding the leadscrew was straight
  • These things didn't fix the issue, I then contacted support. They asked for a video which a sent.
Prusa support sent me a replacement motor and some plastic parts. I don't know which as I haven't received them yet.

one thing to note on my case is that the top linear bearing in the x-end-motor is loose so it keeps dropping down, the bearing bore Is slightly too big, Is this the same for you?

You probably damaged the motor leads with a too tight ziptie. Please check.

You adjusted your x axis belt after completing the build?! Sweet Jesus! You have more patience than me brother.
I had a layer shift issue that turned out to be a loose pulley...thank God. Only after this did I realise what a task it would be to pretensions the belt.

My build was much faster than my mk2s but the latest firmware for the mk3 seems to be "glichy" to me. Aside from being cold-natured, she's dialing in fairly well.

The mk2s IS a workhorse. In fact, it took a short spill (1/2 meter or so) as I was rearranging my make space...redid calibration and she was fine...out-pacing the mk3 for now.

thank you for the anwser, I am not sure which ziptie you are refering, the MK3 Z Stepper motor on the right (next to the einsy RAMBO) didn't require any zipties.
