PRUSA Silver filament
I would love to order filament from PRUSA, but shipping cost to the US makes that a no-go. That said, their silver color is a really nice dark silver that I can't seem to find elsewhere. I have tried three different brands now, but all three are much lighter than PRUSA silver.
Anyone know of a filament available in the US that is a darker silver like PRUSA's?
Re: PRUSA Silver filament
Hi Josh,
I believe Prusa's filament is made in the Czech Republic, so may not be directly available in the US.

Re: PRUSA Silver filament
Prusa filaments are made by Plasty Mladec. You can check on PM website if they offer shipping to USA.
Re: PRUSA Silver filament
Thanks for the replies. It looks like PM shipping to the US would be just as costly as PRUSA's. To clarify though, I wasn't looking to find the exact same filament as PRUSA silver... I was instead hoping that someone who had experience with readily available brands here in the US might know of a silver that was darker than most silvers on the market. To me, PRUSA silver is more of a "steel" color, which is exactly what I'm going for.
I've seen some specialty metallic filaments that look like steel, but they're costly. Really hoping to find something in the standard $20/kg range that is a darker "steel-ish" silver. Thanks in advance if you have any recommendations.

Take a look at Push Plastic's silver metallic: https://www.pushplastic.com/products/pla-filament
It's currently out of stock but it looks really close. You can e-mail the push plastic team and they will get back to you super quickly and let you know when they can get stock. You might be able to order a sample. I know someone who knows those guys personally and they're really accommodating.
Re: PRUSA Silver filament
Awesome, thanks for the suggestion. Will check them out.
RE: PRUSA Silver filament
Seems that the silver PLA filament is not available any more. Instead, they recommend to use PRUSAMENT Galaxy Silver. Does anybody know whether that one looks exactly like the traditional PLA silver filament?
RE: PRUSA Silver filament
I'm told it's not the same as the original, which is Filament-PM (mentioned earlier).
Filament-pm does ship to the US and I don't know who said the shipping costs were prohibitive, but it's only a couple euros a roll. Last time I priced it out it came out to something like 24 euros after shipping costs (US does not pay VAT)
They also have a US warehouse now to boot, though not with their full product line.
RE: PRUSA Silver filament
Thanks for your quick reply! I will order at filament-pm then. Shipping costs to Germany are about 7€.
RE: PRUSA Silver filament
Clarification: my comment of 24 euros is one roll shipping included, not the whole shipping cost for one roll! (I think their flat rate/roll worldwide is indeed 7 eur as noted above).

Cheapest mode of shipping in US for FilamentPM is USPS Priority 2 Day and the current quoted rate is $10.50 for a single spool. I have some Prusa Silver PLA and I got some Silver from eSun PETG that is about the same color. The eSun seems to perform fairly well and I got that from Amazon with free shipping for $24.99 it has since gone up to $25.99.
Just some simple research and my observations.

Yeah, the US warehouse pricing is a tad more expensive than the EU one, as is the shipping.
