Re: Prints stalling randomly

USB cable isn't the issue, tried several with the same results. Printer prints fine from SD card with no issues.

This happens with me when using pronterface. Never have this issue if USB isn't connected. Get the same message about waiting for user mentioned previously.

Re: Prints stalling randomly

Just experienced this on my hours old Mk3 printing one of the SD demo objects. Yes, OctoPrint was connected but just monitoring.

I'm not using the 143e firmware yet - just the current Dec 30 firmware (wanted to get a baseline first before I went into a more unique beta).

When people say it fails with "USB connected", does that mean literally physically connected whatsoever, or with a serial session active to OctoPrint or similar? I'm trying the same print again now with the USB connected, but I told OctoPrint to disconnect its session so monitoring isn't active. Granted, if this is random in some way, I don't know if I'm proving anything even if it it succeeds...

In my case, I meant it failed while printing from SD while octoprint had an active serial session. I closed that session but left the physical USB plugged in after I suspected the serial communication was a problem. I'm assuming others meant the same, but it wouldn't hurt to unplug the physical usb if you want to be completely sure.

Re: Prints stalling randomly

I have also experienced half a dozen stalls while printing from SD, however my RPi0 was connected to the accessory port that whole time, and OctoPrint was monitoring. Given how problematic OctoPrint is at the moment I decided to disconnect it completely from the EINSY about a week ago. I haven't had a single issue since disconnecting, zero stalls or other weirdness. Until I experience any evidence to the contrary, I'm assuming that merely having the OctoPi physically connected (and/or having a serial connection open) was causing these SD printing issues.

I am really looking forward to a firmware update making the MK3 truly "OctoPrint ready" (as it was advertised back in September). Swapping the SD card 5-10 times daily is really getting old. I'd even settle for "USB ready" at this point.
