Printing speed is not as it claim

Hi,
First, I'll admit I am new in the world of 3D printing, so the usual printing speeds are unknow to me.
Second, I'm very satisfied with the MK3 I got this week. 🙂

➡ Now, I just don't understand why the estimated times doesnt match the real printing times one the bundled 3D models.
I tried a couple of them, and it always take me around 70% more time it claim it should.
- Whistle claim 25min, took me 39min
- pug buddy claim 1h30, took me 2h50
- PRUSA text bar claim 15, took 24min

I've seen on this forum i'm not the only one, but nothing more.
Firmware 1.3.2-231 , flow 100%, speed 100%, mode: normal

I'm pretty sure these prints have been tested, so why is it so inaccurate for me ❓

PrusaControl is behind in it's version of Slic3r that it uses. If you get the latest Slic3r Prusa edition the time estimates are damn near perfect.

Actualy, I was talking about the very own Gcodes provided by Prusa, on the SD card with my MK3 and the gummy dinos.
The files are all named something like : PRUSA_WHISTLE_200µm_25MIN.GCODE

No slicer involved there...wich make me think a fully and correctly functionnal mk3 should print it around the same time... ❓

print speeds and acceleration defaults have been changed in the recent firmware for a variety of reasons, I'm guessing thats where the difference comes from. They *were* fairly accurate about 5 revisions ago.

but ultimately I would advise you to think more in terms of print SPEED, not TIME.

ie:
"Can I print this part in 1 hour?" vs "Will this print complete successfully with enough detail at 200 mm/s? 100 mm/s? 50 mm/s?"

Re: Printing speed is not as it claim

Are you in Stealth Mode?

Stealth mode prints substantially slower than normal mode, and the time estimates will be accordingly different.
