Print surface double sided? Possible to have two distinct types of surface treatments?

Is the print surface double sided?

And if so, will it have two distinct surface finishes one on each side?

The avalible information seems to dictate a fairly rough grained surface from the photos of parts released from the print surface.

For me personally I prefer the finish from the adhesive PEI sheets, and would like the option to have a flat or matte finish if possible.

Would love if we could get one type of each per build surface!

Would placing a adhesive PEI sheet over one side if it is a dual sides rough build surface be a option that would not disrupt correct operation?

Still interested to know if a extra spring steel bed will be avalible at launch so it is possible to take full advantage of a removable bed.

Will there be different bed PEI surface treatments?
Will there be multisided build surfaces?
If so, will those multisided build surfaces be able to come with different surface treatments per side?
If not, will we be required and able to purchase a extra build surface with a different surface treatment?
If there are different surfaces avalible, will we be able to select the one we desire if they will not be avalible separately at release?

I never considered having differrent print surface finishes, but its a good idea.. I am sure I read that Prusa were looking to release a "smooth" bed later, but not at launch.

For me, I am hoping I can ordered a 2nd 'plate' when my MK3 ships, to take fully advantage of the removable bed.

I am not going to hassle Prusa about this yet, but once they start to ship, I am going to ask.

answer you're looking for is on the main page, under faq section:

What about the new surface? I like its look but I need a smooth surface for some parts.

It probably won't be ready for launch but we’re going to have sheets with different “roughness” and also we’re testing the right glue to use regular PEI sheets as a surface option as well. They will available to buy separately.
