Print Problems

I am having an issue where the extruder is periodically leaving these tear shaped globes of filament on the print bed. Most of the time this is harmless as they just fall to the side. but I had a glob fall onto my print causing a crash. I am also having issues with the nozzle scraping the lattice of the infill and sounds pretty ruff over some of the other parts of the print. I have run first layer calibration probably 100 time and lower it just enough for it to stick to the platter. First layers is pretty smooth. The extruder will also click as if the nozzle is so close to the print surface that it can feed more filament through. Stl file was sliced with Slic3r using default settings. I have also updated to the latest firmware. Im sure its a Slic3r settings that I don't know about. anyone know which settings I should be looking at?

As for the nozzle scraping the lattice of the infill, I think this is by design. I have watched the infill closely and it seems that one direction of filament is deposited and then the other direction is deposited. The second layer is at the same height and as it passes each wall of the other directon, I am certain that it breaks through the opposing direction. I noticed this was a problem only once on the first layer of infill. Some of the layers were knocked out of the correct position. But as the print progressed the infill was fine (and the imperfect layer was hidden inside the print).

The blobs and clicking extruder might be related. The first thing I would figure is a slightly cogged nozzle. Maybe the blobs are a result of a pool of filament squirting out as it makes it past a partial clog. The clicking definately suggests a clog since you are you mentioned that you are not too close to the print bed with the nozzle on the first layer. I would try a few cold pulls. If you have any nylon filament I have read that it is the best to use for the cold pull method. But, any filament will work. Also, when doing a cold pull, be sure to heat the nozzle past the melting point of any filaments that you have use recently. I once had a clog that was not coming loose until I realized that I was trying to clear an ABS clog with PLA temps.
