Print Info

I have upgraded to the latest firmware 3.1.3 on my mk3 and i am printing right now the latest parts which have been changed. I am printing them with octopi with an integrated pi zero w. So far printing works good. Just i see that the printing info tells me in prusa control a total info 7.5 hours.
The octopi´s estimated time says 7 hours. I started the print yesterday afternoon. Its now printing already 12 hours and it probably will take about 14 hours to finish that print. Thats not very precise, isnt it ?
So whats wrong, just the calculation or is it somehow something i did wrong on my part ? I am quite happy with the printing quality but if this could have been printed in halfe of the time just by me putting in the right settings then it would be better, of course. Because printing time is essential.
I have printed 3 parts in one go, the x-carriage, x-end-idler and the x-end-motor, which you can download here from the prusa i 3 printable parts and upgrades.

Re: Print Info

It actually took 12.5 hours to print these 3 parts. No i have started to print the x-carriage-back part. Again the prusa control has estimated 51 min. I am still printing and looks like to me there is a factor about 2 wrong in calculation time. Its a minor problem of course, because the print quality is great and rest of the system works pretty well, so it needs imho only a little tweaking the parameters to give a better precalculation.

Re: Print Info

Did you change the print speed manually?
I did that a couple of times where i had adhesion Problems with the first layer.
Then i forgot to set it back to 100% and was wondering why it took so long..... 🙄

Re: Print Info

You will get a much more accurate print time estimate from Slicer in the latest version.

Re: Print Info

I have not changed the printer speed manually. I am using PrusaControl 0.9.4_415_beta. I using octoprint 1.3.6 on OctoPi 0.14.0. Both should be latest update, as far as i know.
Where do i check the speed to verify that ?
Printer settings are Prusa PET, quality optimal - 0.15mm and Dense - 30% Infill. After generating the gcode i just upload it to my pi zero and start the print.
The x-carriage-back took 01:32 until it just finished. Good print so far. Estimation was 51min. So this is pretty much reproducable and would be nice if someone, who has printed this part give me his printing time for reference. I really dont mind if something takes longer if the quality is good as this.

Re: Print Info

Slice something smaller so you don't have to wait so long to see the results. Print it through Octo-Print and from the Printer directly, compare the times.

Re: Print Info

Are you printing in Stealth Mode? Stealth Mode is, in my experience, much slower.
