Powder coated steel sheets

Hello,

I ordered a MK3 on the 29th of October, 2017. When news broke that powder coated sheets would be delayed a month I said OK I'll wait (that was 2nd of December). A week back I contacted your support and it said it should ship by mid march and this was almost certain.

Today Josef's blog post says "but it will be at least a month.". My question is: is mid march for these old orders still in line and are these old orders? Have you shipped MK3 with powder coated steel sheets at all?

Thanks!

My understanding is no powder coated sheets have shipped yet. I took mine with the PEI sheet and if I were ordering again I'd do the same as the PEI sheet is pretty good...

Pretty worrying... "Low yield" is different than "no yield at all"!

Just yesterday (like a couple hours before the blog post) I added a message to send the powder coated bed, assuming the delay wouldn't be that bad. Now I think I'll just take the voucher instead of waiting any longer.

That's exactly what I did, been postponing my ideas far too long would like to start printing and with the bonus of MMU 2.0 and LA news, the bed plate can wait, don't get me wrong I would like it as advertised but I do understand delays happen. Just received the silicon e3d sock and the 18mm pins to solder on the pie zero w.

I received an email from Jo Prusa also and if you look down into his email he says that everyone that asked to delay their printers for the Powder coated steel sheets would start seeing shipping notices. See below his comments on shipping and the steel sheets.

As you chose to delay shipping of your MK3 until the powder coated sheets are available, we don't want to hold your order any more. You will start receiving shipping notices next week. Your printer will be shipped with smooth PEI sheets and you will automatically be sent the powder coated one completely free when they are available. I don’t want to promise any dates again, as we got burned two times already, but it will be at least a month.

Thanks the answer David. I guess I won't be waiting much then! I also noticed the website stopped showing the steel sheet as an option.

I would be nice to be able to order a steel sheet with a textured PEI sheet at least. I want a spare sheet.

The PEI sheets work good - I used a very fine sandpaper - grit 1000 I believe and gently went over the surface once in both directions, cleaned with alcohol and print with a 4 to 6 layer brim - that completely cured my issues with warping or not sticking. I'm using my MK3 to print parts for the 3Dlab Qtrainer and it is going very well.

This is a great printer !

I haven't yet seen that comment. Where was it? Maybe I just didn't get it.

I received it in an email. It may only be going to people that requested their printers be held up and they haven't shipped yet. Could be an email that was activated when I selected follow Josef Prusa, I don't know which

interesting I guess I was a day or a few hours before that decision? became final, that would have helped, either way, the status of the order has changed to " Order being packed"followed by two emails with ups tracking code, which I was jaw drop of this info, now it has arrived Louisville, KY, United States this morning, not sure from there when it will make its way to Canada, so far the printer has visited more countries then I have my whole life. wow super happy 😀 😀 😯

Neato. I'll have to follow him too then. I requested the powder coated bed on March 2nd and they confirmed at noon that day. I'm still waiting (I'm really far back in line as I ordered week 6 of 2018), so I wonder if I'm going to be included in that or the voucher program.

This is just ridiculous, I had my order on hold until two days ago when they announced the second delay, I asked them to just ship with the PEI sheet. I hope they will send me the powder coated one as well.
