PETG Torture test
I printed this bird feeder in PETG from MakerGeeks Crystal Clear and it printed in an unheated garage over 26 hours. Temp swing from 70's in the day to 40's at night. Came out perfect except the Z was a little bigger than the printer and had to stop it. Did this with the Slicr Prusa Standard setting for 0.20mm Standard and Prusa PETG 230/240
For some strange reason I did a few prints in PLA and PETG and it was able to stick the the PEI sheet with no problem. When I tried printing this the PETG would not stick until I put down painters tape. I have cleaned the bed after every print with Alcohol and or Windex but PETG will not stick anymore. I am going to get some Acetone and do a clean with it this weekend. The first few prints printed with nothing and then the next few prints needed clue stick and then this print needed painters tape..
Re: PETG Torture test
looks pretty good , thanks for the share
Re: PETG Torture test
theres like no stringing i can see. i didnt think of putting blue tape on the bed for petg, but next print with it, i will try that. a lot easier to clean than the gluestick
Re: PETG Torture test
Pretty awesome, and glad to hear that Maker Geeks crystal is printing well, as I bought some over black friday. Now just waiting for my mk3.

I took a close up. There is some stringing but its like angle hair. Nothing I would complain about. If you look at this picture you can see it. All in all very nice print in PETG. Considering this is about my 5 print and it prints will little or no tweaking on my part I think this turned out pretty good. The painters tape was out of frustration. First couple of prints everything stuck but the time I got to this it would not stick. I had done several prints and stuff stopped sticking even with glue stick. I clean every time with Alcohol or Windex and still nothing would stick. I finally tried painters tape with glue stick and it worked like a dream. Once it cools down it comes off with a small flex of the plate no problem. If the plate is hot it will not come off to save you life.

I am buying some more of their PETG Crystal. This stuff is awesome. I have done a few small prints and it prints without any issue that I can see. And the best thing is it prints as easy as PLA and has heat resistance of ABS. and cost the same.
