Nozzle Swap

Morning all i ordered A Olsson Ruby nozzle from Matterhackers.com in their blue Friday sale (my unboxing video with supprise)

Now im thinking of adding this to my Mk3 build on arrival, but i was wondering if the supplied nozzle is glued in with something like thredlock which would mean warming up heater block to remove nozzle.
It would be great if i could just remove saw original cold straight out of box, any help would be much appreciated.

I would be surprised if it were thread locked. It’s an e3dv6 variant, and their assembly instructions have no lock.

That said, several reasons you might want to assemble and test print, then swap:

- if there was a test print or extrusion at the factory, there could be hardened filament in there. A cold pull before or a warm removal might be good in that case

- e3dv6 nozzle installation uses heat for the final tightening.

- ease of support: if the first test print doesn’t work and you haven’t swapped, you know it is a prusa issue or your own assembly problem. If you swap the nozzle, you introduce unneeded factors.

The nozzle swap is a 5 minute job after your first test print, if you can wait.

Just don’t assemble the frame shroud. First thing you do when assembled is preheat, change nozzle, cool down. Then finish extruder built aka attach fan shroud.

But I would follow Paul’s advice.

The Ruby Nozzle is up for sale on the Prusa shop. I noticed it yesterday.
