Hey, you could be a senior in high school or college...

Literally a few months ago I was a senior in High School lol.

Re: MK3 Shipping

To add some info to the thread, even though it isn't much: I just contacted Prusa via chat to ask for a delivery date estimate for a mid-October order. I was told they don't have one. I asked how likely it is that I'll get it before Christmas. They didn't even know that (or didn't want to tell me). All "useful" information I got was that perhaps they'll know more in 2 weeks - which I read as "please don't ask again within the next two weeks".

That's quite a bit disappointing. I understand that things can get backordered, sometimes severely. But no shipping estimate whatsoever?

Re: MK3 Shipping

I understand the delays as they are still such a young company and just recently sized up. It's still a huge amount to built and ship for a small team (relative to the amount of orders). However, especially in such a case, I'd expect a bit more communication. Just a simple blog post about what is being done at the moment, maybe some pictures of the process etc to please buyers a bit. And to be honest about why there are delays, people will be much more understanding I think. I'm holding off my first 3D printer ever, simply because I want to see the reviews first, but am not really positive (the hardware is awesome no doubt) about the lack of communication combined with the huge delays.

That would be great indeed! And good marketing too.
Photos of boxes being loaded, parts coming in, any other preparations to get the products out to the customers.

The twitter post by Jo Prusa was a good step!
More please!

I ordered my MK3 Mid-October as well and at that time it said shipping Mid-November then changed to late November, only 3 days left in November and no update that it's been delayed again so I'm assuming they plan to ship out in the next 3 days. I was hoping to get it by Dec 15 as I'm on vacation Dec 16 - Jan 2 so I would have lots of free time to assemble it and do some major printing.

Re: MK3 Shipping

I would actually quite happily take a couple of days off to help packing and shipping the new printers
Prague is not that far away from where I live (9-10 hours by car, mostly on easy German highways)
Obviously I'll take mine back with me then too (ordered end of September).

I hope to be proven wrong, but I think you might be a bit optimistic here.

Given the date, and no "shipping now!" tweets or posts, I think it is safe to say that if they hit the "late November" target it will only be with a few lead units (youtubers, Make magazine, whatever). I would think it would ramp after that over the next few weeks, but it wouldn't surprise me if it took them all of December to work through the initial September order backlog.

I'm still hopeful (if pessimistic) that I'll get mine before Christmas, but I ordered on announcement day.

I don't think you're that far off though I think there will be more than just a few lead units going out on the initial shipment. Unfortunatley seems to be a lot of people (that are in for a disappointment) that think they will be getting their printer within the next week because all they hear is starts shipping end of November. Even those that ordered the day pre-orders were available could be waiting weeks depending on how many people ordered day one.
