MK2s to MK3 upgrade kit received

Ordered all black kit 10/20/17 ----- Billed $429.34 - 141 days ago

So finally got my kit today. I was all excited. Ready to tear down the old MK2s and get started building new MK3. I cant, maybe 2 days from now.

Box came without printed parts. They expect you to print your own MK3 parts. Why even ask me what color parts I want if I have to print them? They send you 2 small rolls of PETG in the colors you wanted. And not 4 or 5 parts they expect you to print.

MK3_Black_parts_PETG_18H.gcode <<<----- 12 parts
MK3_OrangeOrBlack_parts_PETG_15H.gcode <<<----- 14 parts

But wait, 1 of the PETG rolls of filament had a tear in the packaging. So I'm 1st drying both rolls in a dehydrator before I start printing.

This is not what I expected from Prusa. Im really disappointed. Its one thing to save manufacturing cost using printed parts, but to have me wait 141 days for a product then I have to print 26 parts for 33 hours myself b4 I can assemble the printer?? 141 days they cant print the parts at least?

Where did it say you had to print your own parts for $429, come on.....

MK3:
Ordered 09/23/2017
Received 01/25/2018 (without advertised purchased spring steel)

MK2s to MK3
Ordered 10/20/2017
Received 3/9/2018 (print your own parts)

MK3 MMU
Ordered 10/27/2017
Told shipping in late February
Product changed maybe ship in May

These delays in shipping, these product changes and switching of products for other products (pei instead of spring pei spring steel) are annoying at best and unrepresentative at worst. I really like my prusa's. They are my best printers infact (Taz6, CR10s4, Delta)...... but I'm not impressed. I understand issues with manufacturers not being able to produce what was expected. But everything I've ordered from Prusa lately has been delayed, not what I paid for, print your own parts or changed and still waiting at least til May (MMU)

Prusa MK3 preassembled (R2/B6) > (R3/B/7)
Prusa MK2.5 kit > MK3 > MK3+MMU2 (R3/B/7) 😀
Prusa SL1 3D printer + Curing and Washing Machine (day1 order)
Taz6
CR10s4
Delta 3ku

Re: MK2s to MK3 upgrade kit received

While I agree with you that this is pretty janky, if this is tearing you up that badly I would just pack it up and send it back to them now. I don't say that to be snide, I say this as someone who knows your frustration. Many of us have completely reprinted our "professionally assembled" MK3 and dumped dozens if not hundreds of hours into troubleshooting issues that should never have went out the door. There's still a host of issues left to work out, too.

If you do decide to stick with it, try to keep yourself from getting disgruntled and come hit us up. We'll make this thing what it was advertised to be... someday.

I'm not going to send it back. I will try to make it "work" as sent.

That was why I'm expressing disappointment in business practices like these, was a surprises I wasnt expecting from Prusa. From your response I can tell you are also not impressed with your mk3's quality or attention to detail.

I have cried harder about my MK3 than anyone. 🙂
