Misaligned layers at start/stop of other features

Hi all,

Warning - the MK3 is my first 3D printer 😉

Looking for some suggestions to resolve the apparent misaligned layers corresponding to the two holes in this bracket (image attached). This has occurred across multiple models and file sources, including several self-made ones. It doesn't have to be holes, seems any feature on the print causes the same thing.

I'm running latest (at posting) firmware (3.1.3) and the included 0.15mm MK3 "optimal" print settings in Slic3r MK3. Printing with Pronterface.

Appreciate any tips!

The top of that part looks a little rough. If it's not "smooth" print THIS extrusion test. (print two and see if they fit together EASILY) If they are tight, decrease extrusion, if they are sloppy loose, increase extrusion. Keep printing them, until they slide together, with no force, and stay together... (barely) (Extrusion Multiplier, under Filament in Slic3r)

How hot are you running the filament? Over/Under extrusion CAN be caused by incorrect temps.

I'm going to assume you are smart enough to not mess with settings you have no idea what they do, given you said default 0.15 profile. (On a positive note, they are much more intimidating, than they should be!)

ANNND...

Sometimes printers just do that. If you want to be 100% sure it's the printer's fault, print the exact same STL file again, and see if it has the exact same problem.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated! I'm in the middle of a 2-hour print at the moment but I will do as you say and try the extrusion test pieces and adjust as required & see if that uncovers any clues.

Edit: Sorry, the PLA is at 210°C and the bed is at 60°C

For the Grey Prusa filament that's at the "low" end of the temp range, but should be fine. (People just love to print PLA at 200 or below... but different PLA's have different.... "softness/moltenness?" at different temps... so Just because PLA brand A, prints great at 190c... does *NOT* mean PLA brand B, will even print at 190c.
