I don’t know, but I have a print that the only way I can keep the pla from warping is to put a blanket over my open frame cabinet. It prints for 30hrs with an ambient temp of 35c and doesn’t have any problems with the PLA melting. Sounds like he has something else going on based on my experience.
Edit—. The 30hr print at 35c ambient just finished. I immediately measured the extruder gears and they were at 45c.

Pla glass transition temp is around 60-65c, there must be something else going on
