LCD screen blocking out

Got 5 prints off just fine now this. Updated firmware took off zip ties. Just not sure what happened. Any suggestions would be much needed

Re: LCD screen blocking out

did you ever get this resolved?

identical situation for me... half a dozen good prints and then garbled/blocky lcd in the middle of a print.

Re: LCD screen blocking out

posting for posterity in case anyone else has the same issue:

I fixed mine by replacing the entire lcd module. Was in a bit of a hurry so in lieu of going through support, I just ordered one of these off of amazon. Figured for 12 bucks with free same-day shipping even if it didn't work I'd have a pair of extra cables to use.

Actually works a bit better than stock, the beeper is quieter, and the knob is 100x better. The only issue is that the connectors are wired in reverse (tab DOWN instead of UP). Just need to file off the tab and flip over the connectors.

What a pain. I assume your wiring is clear, not binding or kinked? Could the Einsy be blowing it out in some way?

$12 for a display is pretty cheap, but not cheap enough for it to be considered a disposable item.

my wiring isn't the cleanest, but the original cables did work fine for the new display. the new cables that it came with also worked fine (before it fried) and show the exact same symptoms afterwards.

really wish there was a way to calibrate without it, or better yet just output the display to a pc/octoprint.

Re: LCD screen blocking out

i had mine printing on my dresser, got up from my bed to check (closely) at the first few layers, and got the biggest static shock of my life. my nose was close to the lcd screen, checking the print and i got zapped. the lcd screen went absolutely insane, the print resumed. i feared the worse, but the next restart, all was fine.
