If you haven't ordered your 2.5 upgrade for your Mk2/S yet, theres something you should know about the $50 discount

I ordered my MK2S last spring, through a reseller called Voxel Factory in Montreal. I had been waiting to order the 2.5 upgrade until after Christmas, so I could make sure my finances were stable after the holidays.

I didn't think it would be a problem, since this is whats on the website:

The retail MK2 to MK2.5 upgrade price is $199. If MK2S was bought during the last 30 days before MK3 release (September 23, 2017), it is just $99 (or a different amount based on the respective MK2S price drop in other currencies, for example 60 GBP discount for purchases made in GBP) (vouchers were sent on October 18, 2017, please check your spam folder before contacting our support). If you bought MK2/S before, ever, it will be $149 for you (Again, the amount may differ for other currencies. You have to be logged in with the account used to buy your MK2 to automatically get this discount). We know it’s a really great deal but the magnetic heatbed and the extruder improvements are extremely useful and we want to spread them rapidly :).

I didn't receive a voucher initially from Voxel Factory, so I contacted them and they gave me one. However it didn't work, saying it was expired. Voxel Factory told me this might happen and to contact Pursa support and they could sort it out. Here is Prusa's response:

the discount vouchers expired last Saturday.

Best regards,

So I contacted Voxel Factory and let them know, and they looked into it as well:

Hello Mike,

Prusa won't budge it appears. All their vouchers are now expired, whether for customers who ordered directly from them or from a reseller. We were not warned that this would be the case, and there's little we can do at this point.

Best regards,

I hate to complain. I love my MK2S. I was excited to get the bed and extruder upgrade. Hell I've even considered getting the MK3 itself just for the fun of putting it together. And I know it's just $50 that we are talking about here, in the greater scheme of things, that's just a roll of filament. It just really grinds my gears that there is no communication of the fact that the discount actually expires (had I known, I would have ordered it weeks ago). In fact quite the opposite, if you If you bought MK2/S before, ever, it will be $149 for you. Ever is the key word there. I initially thought it was because I had bought my MK2S through a reseller, and if I had ordered through Prusas store that the discount would still be valid, but apparently not.

So heads up, if you were waiting to order the upgrade and thought you could still get the discount you probably cant. I don't know if people who purchased their MK2S after September 23, 2017 are going to have the same issue but its worth checking.

I still have the automatic discount in the shop for the MK2.5 upgrade since I bought directly to them a MK2S kit.

A while back when I spoke to the chat support, they said to me that there was no time limitation for this discount.
But I probably won't use it since I ordered a MK3 kit 😀

I think all is well. apparently there was another extended discount they thought I was talking about. turns out we were talking about different discounts, hence the confusion.
