Re: I hear a clicking noise when trying to put filament in and cannot load it

I now have my hotend out! The tube had enlarged in the idler-gear area so it was preventing the removal of the hotend.

Unfortunately, in trying to get the **** thing out, one of the wires had broken. So I cut off the rest, which allowed me to get enough leverage to pull the tubing out from where it was stuck.

There was over 40 mm of unmelted filament in the heatsink. I'm willing to bet that below that is a solid clog. This seems to be what the filament was bouncing off of, causing the "clicking" noise.

I may try to repair this hotend, but I've got another from Amazon on the way. Maybe I'll keep this as a spare if I can figure out how to get it cleaned out.

Thank you very much for all the help.

The filament should be inside the ptfe tubing right?
As far as the "wires" they are about $20 for the heater and thermistor.
Watch out for fakes on Amazon you need genuine e3d if you are replacing the whole thing.

Wires I can do. And yes, I think that the filament was inside the tube. I pulled them out at the same time.

How do you tell a counterfit? The one I bought was:
