Help with calibration print (cube)

I have a MK3 (assembled version) and I am pretty new to 3D printing. I was able to get pretty good results right out of the box (with the PLA that came with the printer) with minor z axis adjustment (live z adjust). I bought some ABS from https://3dprintingcanada.com/collections/filaments/products/black-1-75mm-abs-filament-1-kg . I set the bed temperature to 90 and extruder to 220. I'm not thrilled with the results and I don't have the experience to know which settings to adjust. Thanks for your help!

Here's what a 10x10x10 straight cube should look like.

I call it "perfection", as it's nearly impossible to see anything on it, and it is within 0.02mm in all dimensions. 😉

PS: It took almost as long to print Perfection, as it did the benchy sitting on it. 😉

Your ABS looks better than mine honestly, I haven't put a lot of time into dialing in my ABS profiles yet, but it's on the "to do list". I may do that later today.

A lot of people talk about needing a heat chamber, and what not but here's what I see with your print. 😉

I'm gonna say increase your extruder temp. If you look at the details in the X, what is causing that are the layers "pulling' off the layer below it as it cools. (ABS has some nasty shrinkage compared to PLA) (Notice that the imperfection on the X, "climbs" up. (it gets worse as it get's higher) That leads me to think it's layer adhesion as it cools. Generally I think a lot of people who do ABS have the OTHER problem... it's too hot, and pulls as it cools.
ABS is a bit of an art to print, and I sure don't know how to do it yet, I'm sure there's guys on here that can give better advise than myself.

Also, I'm not familar with the differnet types of ABS plastics, but 200-230 seems a bit low for ABS on the high side. My ABS is 210-270.

Hi Bosko,
is there any reason that you didn't use the default temperatures for ABS?

they are 240 to 250c in the Prusa ABS sample profiles.

You will probably do better at these temperatures!

I had some ABS, but I found the results rubbish, and the fumes got on my chest, so I got rid of it all... I now use PETG, PLA and TPU.
