Hi Luke,

did you use anything as a "seperator" like gluestick etc.?
Otherwise the PEI sheet in combination with PetG or similar filament would stick to well.

using gluestick or window cleaner for petg seems to be a good idea and is mentioned in the handbook.
I recently read (somewhere here in the forum) aout putting some ispropanol on the edge of the print to help it losen up. That helped me recently to get some hot glue off the printbead (I had a print warping a bit and used the hot glue to keep it in place until it was done). Even the freezer trick didn't help with all of the blobs, isopropanol cleared it up in minutes.

I did not realize XT-CF20 was PETG. All I could find was that it was a "co-polyester" and made from "Eastman Amphora AM1800 polymer".

I definitely did not use a separator, and I think I even wiped the PEI with isopropyl alcohol before the print..... so yep that would do it! Live and learn I guess!

CF20 is not PETG, but PETG is a copolyester 😉

I've the same problem with the ColorFabb XT without carbon fiber. I try windows cleaning it was better. What about reduce the heated bed temperature to 70°C ? Did someone try before i try ?

Hey Guys,

Just tried XT-CF20 for the first time. Replaced my nozzle with a hardened steel nozzle, and printed a benchy using the Slic3r default settings for Colorfabb XT-CF20.

First layer was pretty messy, but the rest printed very nicely. However, I couldn't get the damned thing off the bed. I waited until it was room temperature, I even tried putting it in the freezer. I ended up cracking the PEI sheet while flexing it, and when I finally ripped the benchy off it took a huge piece of PEI with it. Even the skirt and initial nozzle wipe line were near impossible to remove, and still little bits remain.

What am I doing wrong? I would like to be able to print with this filament, but am now scared I will keep destroying my bed.

Slic3r default temp settings were 260 and 90.

Can you post a picture of your benchy in ColorFabb XT-CF20 i'm interessed to see the quality of your benchy print with MK3 and this filament !

I used colorfabb XT together with 3dlac on my mk2 for 6 months, but I think it degraded the pei sheet because it cracked and fell apart

For the MK2 with it's no-removable build plate it's hard to change the PEI shit but it's still possible with some time to remove all the glue left on the heated surface. I've already did it's once
