Firmware 3.1.3 issue

Hi,

I’ve just update my printer to the latest firmware, I switched from 3.1.1 and after the update the calibration wizard popped up. I let the printer to do the magic but when I went back to the room I saw that the nozzle is scraping the steel sheet and it scraped off the PEI foil. I stopped it asap. Restarted but in the Z selftest stage it hit the bed again and started to move the head back and forth like in the Z calbiration procedure. I tried again without the steel sheet but it started to scrape the PCB.

Am I doing something wrong?

Regards,
Robert

I didn't think you are supposed to have the steel sheet in place during the calibration wizard?

If the nozzle scratches on the bed (with or without steel sheet), your PINDA is too high. Adjust it and calibrate again.
It could also be a software failure, if so reflash the machine again.
And do not forget the roule number one, never leave the machine during calibration!

Re: Firmware 3.1.3 issue

the steel sheet is suppose to be removed. the wizard tells you to remove it during the initial 4 point calibration. then if i remember later the wizard tells you to install the plate.

keep in mind the calibration is done via magnets. then you are installing a steel sheet which increases magnets strength and also the entire sheet becomes magnetic and changes the calibration points.

so the first calibration is the baseline on how the reader sees the magnets in the bed.

Not true at all.. the magnets are to hold the steel bed down. The calibration points are NOT the magnets, they are nine ferrous points in the bed.

Re: Firmware 3.1.3 issue

I had a similar issue with earlier updates which went away after a factory reset...

please try a factory reset followed by running the calibration wizard
