Filament sensor wiring error

I have built my mk3 and am getting an error on selftest with the filament sensor.... I have checked the wiring, red wire to the right bttom on einsy, and white wire on top on extruder. I have received a new sensor and the problem still occurs.
Support suggested measuring the voltage on the sensor but didnt say which pins.

Suggestions?

Re: Filament sensor wiring error

Have you found a resolution to the filament sensor wiring error? My experience is identical to yours, original sensor caused this error despite proper assembly and a replacement sensor is producing the exact same error. I'm currently running FW 3.1.3 and completed a factory reset to no avail.

I'm having the exact same issue. Who do I contact about getting a replacement sensor?? Have verified (multiple times) that the wiring is seated correctly and in the correct place, but the self-test always stops at "Filament sensor wiring error".

Re: Filament sensor wiring error

I had this issue too when I built and for me its because I seated it wrong on the enisy board. Its possible to plug it in one pin to the right or left of where it should be.

Re: Filament sensor wiring error

I've triple-checked the wiring, pulled and inspected the sensor, and did a factory reset (all data). Still no go on the filament sensor. Has anyone found a fix?

Re: Filament sensor wiring error

Same issue here: I have checkt the cable several times. It is connected correctly to both the sensor and the einsy. On the sensor, i have the white cable facing up and on the einsy, i have plugged it to the lower row of Pins with the red cable on the Right-most pin.

Still i Keep getting Filament sensor wiring error message.

Please help!!!

Thank you!
Hartmut

RE: Filament sensor wiring error: Check Firmware if upgrading from MK3 to MK3s

I know, it's been silent for a while. I had the same thing after upgrade from MK3 to MK3S and was very disappointed to learn that many hours of effort seemed to be in vain and I would have to wait for a replacement sensor. Double checked everything... to no avail. All seems right.

The forum discouraged me a bit more.  However I thought, OK this is amazing that the firmware is able to distinguish between the old and new sensor. It turned out. It cannot. There is a special firmware for each printer. What makes it a bit confusing is that they all share the same version number. So I read the last chapter of Preflight Check (which I skimmed through only). Here it was loud and clear: There is a different firmware.

I updated the to become a MK3S and self-check went like a charm. I hope this helps in case there are some more inpatient makers out there that just overlook this fact.
