FIlament Sensor n/a
I'm using the mk3 with the latest firmware (3.1.1-RC3 b138) and filament sensor does not work. When I started with the machine the sensor saved 4 prints, so I know it was working at one point. Then I turned the sensor off and it wouldn't let me turn it back on. I assumed this was the firmware, so I waited until the newer version came out (3.1.1), updated to it and now I'm getting n/a next to it. I tried cleaning the sensor from all angles with a compressed air can as mentioned in the manual and even covered the extruder carrage to prevent any light from getting in, but the sensor is still registering as N/A. Yes, the two covers are on (the top screwed in part and the little clip on thing). I don't know what to try anymore, but any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
Re: FIlament Sensor n/a
You are actually 1 rev behind B139 is available.
Re: FIlament Sensor n/a
Same here, but in my case it never worked (always shown as N/A).
Re: FIlament Sensor n/a
The n/a is when it detects a failed or unplugged sensor I believe is what they said. I would reseat the connector on the sensor; and also make sure it is hooked up correctly in the control board (this is mostly for the “never worked” person).
If you have a multi meter you could ring out the wires to eliminate a broken wire.
Reseating MAY help; otherwise contact support for replacement.

Re: FIlament Sensor n/a
Thanks for showing me that, couldn't find a form on the issue. Just sent an email to customer support, I'll see what they say
Re: FIlament Sensor n/a
My hasn't worked since I assembled the kit. I've seen that there was an updated firmware and tried that with no luck. I removed and reinstalled the sensor, checked the cables at both ends to ensure they are seated all the way and still reads N/A. I've contacted support and emailed pictures of the connections and the screen and just waiting on a reply. I think it may just be a bad sensor. Everything else works great and this is an awesome machine. I really do think they've outdone themselves on this one.

They will take good care of you.. I’m rather sure it’s a bad part from what you say
RE: FIlament Sensor n/a
I had exactly the same problem you had vincent - s4 . Lcd was showing N/A continuously and I could not get the filament sensor to reactivate in the menu. I did all the checks from the website and still no glee. Continuity on 2 IR sensors and 2 separate 3 lead wires were good , as with the voltage of 5 volts coming of the board pins . I thought of using the top row of pins but that proved a no no , as they are wired differently from the einsy skematic drawing .
Seriously thinking of redoing the hot end and trying a modded body that will take the old Laser filament sensor . Ugh , What a pain in the arse . Good thing I'm unemployed and have the time to do diagnostics. 😩
Come on Prusa . Get your development team to put their thinking caps on and rectify this serious design flaw .
