Feature request for self test - change order of tests
Hi,
currently I struggle with a quite persistent X axis length error.
The sad thing is that each test takes ca 5 to 10 minutes - because the self test tests the hot end before the axis. And each time that I want to restart the self test the machine waits for the nozzle cooling down. This makes me insane.
So what I wished the test was like:
1. sensor (because it is super quick)
2. axis (because nothing has to cool down before a retry)
3. hotend
4. bed
Best regards
Re: Feature request for self test - change order of tests
seems like a valid request...
my Y axis complained a bit so I slackened the belt a tiny bit... using one of the screws on the front idler housing. fingers crossed thats the end of that particular issue.
regards Joan

This. And also, don't leave the nozzle jammed against the bed while waiting for it to heat up. More like a self-restraint test. 🙂
Re: Feature request for self test - change order of tests
I modified the firmware to add an abbreviated self test that only tests the belts with no waiting on temperature. It just displays the results but does not save them to eeprom. Now I can iterate quickly.
