Favorite Raspberry pi Camera holder and filament dust filter?
Hi
My raspberry pi camera is delivered and I wonder which Camera mount for the MK3 do you prefer?
I also have not yet introduced a filament dust filter on my MK3. Again the question: which one do you prefer?

I tried this one but the fixed camera angle pointed above the bed. It's too bad because I like how it brings the camera in closer to the center.

I also use this filament guide with the angled up case that is almost good. Unfortunately, the carriage hits it when it's all the way up.

I'm using this same arm and enclosure, works like a charm. I loved that i didn't have to disassemble anything to attach it, just zip tie it on using the grooves and it's plenty solid even when the printer is moving at max speed. I will say if I were going to do it again, i'd prob scale up the enclosure a few % bigger, my camera board almost wouldn't fit in it.

That looks funny but i would not have want the printer to pause it every layer I think. Have you tried it with petg? Doesn’t it drop out the nozzle and on the print when the printer Parks for the shots?

It parks for I think .5 seconds. It's really not that much.
It does cause some minor stringing, all you need to do is increase the retraction by a smudge.

It has GPIO access but there is a version it was mixed from that doesn't have that port. Works great and keeps the Pi out of the way (i even ordered a 6" USB cable to use). Now to just make a case for my LED strip driver to piggyback.

Install an endoscope camera on your extruder. It helps heaps in looking at layer issues. Normal cameras are too far away.
This is what it looks like on my mk2s. Mind you that in real life it's sharper since I took a screenshot while the print was running

What camera did you use? Can you take a picture of how you installed it? Definitely like this idea.

Any endoscope USB camera you can find on Amazon basically.
I found a mount on Thingiverse which I completely remodelled to fit the Prusa. You screw it on the 2 bottom screws of the cooling fan.
If you have Fusion 360 I can share the link to the models I made. The only thing that you would need to change is the inner diameter if you buy an endoscope with a different thickness.
Oh, and don't use PLA. Use PETG or it will soften. Those leds generate quite a lot of heat.

Awesome mod, did octoprint pick it up as a webcam right away? I purchased USB Borescope, Depstech from Amazon for $21.99. hoping that octoprint picks it up as a webcam. The fusion 360 files would be awesome thanks. For PETG are you using Windex? Tried a couple of PETG prints one was really stuck on there but didn't damage PEI. Made me nervous. What Orange are you using as it looks pretty close to Prusa.

OctoPi uses it as a normal webcam. No configuration needed.
For PETG I am using Real Filament PETG (comes from Holland). Never had bed issues with PETG. Just make sure your first layer is far enough from the build plate, and/or use gluestick.
I didn't print it in orange. It's some kind of green (check the color around the endoscope).
Here is the Fusion 360 file:
You will see that the thing that goes on to the fan is asymmetrical. This is done so that when the carriage moves all the way to the left the endoscope doesn't jam into the Z axis rod.
As said before, maybe you'll need to change the inner diameter. You also need a nut and a screw to clamp the endoscope in the holder. In my case I also had to pull the endoscope about 5mm back into the holder or it would be too close to the nozzle and out of focus.

Thank you for all the information. I am trying another more complex petg print right now. How much different is your live z from pla to petg? I went from -0.370 pla to -0.450 for petg. Hoping that is enough. Thank you again for the fusion 360 file.
