Re: Edges lifting – Cessna 152 Trainer

The Spitfire gcodes from Prusa also specify 230 for extruder temp. I had the same issues when printing the plate of a wing. I changed the PLA I was using (that was in the 230 range) and also printed each wing part on its own instead of the plate version.

Maybe they are for Petg...

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK

I guess that what is confusing me. I am using PLA, using the provided (optimal) configuration FACTORY Simplify3D files, printing with a Prusa i3 MK3 printer and having the lift issues. Per 3D Lab Print, they use and recommend Prusa i3 MK2 and the settings (of the FACTORY files) are optimal for best results.

The only variation I have in the mix is I am using a MK3 and the provided Prusa PLA. I wonder if the Prusa PLA is the issue? I should be receiving some Hatchbox PLA in a few days.

So with the lifted edges the seams do not line up perfectly. Is there anyway to salvage the parts and still use? Is there a method when gluing and assembling to fill the gaps?

Thanks,
Kerry

Hatchbox is what I tried first and had issues with..

I then used this.. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072LFZDQX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and had good luck printing one piece at a time.

in here

Reviewed that thread (and some external searching) and still no lead on best profile settings for the MK3 with Simplify3D. I am sure sooner or later they will surface as the MK3 is starting to ship.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks,
Kerry

...printing one piece at a time.

The Simplify3D Factory files usually show 2 pieces per setup...did you simply remove the 2nd piece?

Does this mean the pieces I have printed are scrap? Are you still able to glue together the pieces with the gaps?

Thanks,
Kerry

Re: Edges lifting – Cessna 152 Trainer

The spitfire gcode came in two directories. One was "plate" version which included many parts on one plate. But it also included a parts directory which had every part as a separate gcode file. I was not able to use the parts that lifted.

I never had the STL files with the spitfire. They are in the drivers directory.
