disconnected thermister wires
Looks like I've suffered from the spiral wrap problem. My thermister wires to the heated bed have disconnected from the bed. I didn't realize it until I tried to start a new print and the bed was taking forever to heat up. I've reported the problem to customer support but I feel like I'm dead in the water. Who else has encountered this problem and what steps have you taken or are you planning to take?
It's also interesting that I experienced my first, and so far only, layer shift in my last print - in the y direction. I wonder if the two events are related... wrap grabbed the wires causing the wires to become forcibly disconnected and the y-belt to skip a notch?

Did the wires break? Or did the whole assembly come off the bed?
If it just came off, you can consider loosening the wire in the bundle, so it doesn't come off again, then retaping it with Kapton tape.
I'd clean the bed carefully with isopropyl alcohol before taping it down.

Looks to me as if it's only displaced too...
if you turn the printer on and both the bed and extruder show the ambient temperature, and the ambient temperature is above 11 Centigrade,
you should be good to go with loosening the thermister wires in the cable bundle, and re attaching the thermister in the centre of the heat bed...

Thanks to both of you! Yes nothing was broken, I was able to peel up the existing Kapton tape, place the glass tip on the circled bull's eye and press the tape back down. I added some extra tape for good measure. I went ahead and removed the spiral wrap as well. Interestingly, there was a loop of thermister wire hanging down below the electronics assembly. I suspect that each time the bed moved forward and back a tiny amount of wire was pulled until the thermister was pulled loose from the bed and collected there.
The bed now passes the self tests! Unfortunately, I can't get the z axis to behave properly and I can't get to the mesh leveling part of the calibration wizard - so still dead in the water, just different water... That's a different forum post.
