Calibration Results

Hey Makers

I hope someone can help me out with the calibration results.
I finished the assembling and calibration today and run my first print (Batman Icon).
Damn that printer is waaaaay faster than I expected.

I got Measured Skew 0.01

Below is written Slight and Severe Skew (0.12 and 0.25) I assume that this are the possible Skews and is not related to my calibration?

What means the belt status? I got X 243 and Y 257 - good or bad?

And last thing I do not really understand is the „Y distance from Min“ - I got here 9.45mm and 9.40mm.

Can someone explain that please?

Re: Calibration Results

Yes, the slight and severe skew message is just to inform the user about what values are considered good and bad. 0.01 is incredibly good, if you shake the printer a bit and try again, do you still get that value? 🙂

I don't know the answers to your second and third questions.

With 0.01 I think I will get a job offer tomorrow from Jo 😀 - they are behind with the assembled orders and maybe need some help 😉
With that skew I think I should never lift the printer anymore 🙂

I already found some info about the values in the handbook - but just which values are good / bad, not what they are representing.

Your skew is great. 012 and 0.25 are provided as examples of slight and severe skew, respectively, for reference. You are correct that they are not related to your calibration.

The belt status is the result of a tension measurement made, I believe, using the adaptive current capabilities of the motor drivers. Your values are good, the manual specifies 240 +/- 40 as "good".

I think the "Y distance from min" is the location of some of the test points, and that is used as part of the skew compensation.

Thanks for the info - that sounds quite clear 🙂

I am just a bit worried about the Y distance value because above 10 is good and I am slightly below.

Re: Calibration Results

I'm in the same boat: no skew (0.01), with 9.13 and 9.31 for the 'y distance from min'. I don't have reason to believe that is an issue, but the manual seems to imply it should be above 10. I'm ignoring it for now.

Re: Calibration Results

0.01 it's okay. These values mean (axis x parallel to the hotbed) that means the left side from the endstop 9.13mm and the right side from the endstop 9.38mm this means a hotbed twisted by 0.01 angles. x243 y257 these values are the end stop distance.
