Bug: How to load filament when sensor is off?

Hi,

how can I load filament when the sensor is off? The menu item to load filament got removed. I print with a clear filament that the sensor looses track off, so I turned the sensor off.

Please bring back "load filament" back to menu! Especially if the sensor is off!

Thanks and bets regards

I had a hard time trying to change my filaments as well.

I turned "on" the filament sensor in the settings menu, but it took a while for me to get the sensor to actually recognize that I was trying to load the filament.

Possible workaround until this is fixed: Is there a "Move extruder axis" command somewhere in the printer menu? Under settings possibly? Could that be used to force load/unload of filament manually? I don't know if it has protection against cold extrusion, so make sure the hotend is heated up.

It does not have cold extrusion protection.
I found it odd that I can load cold but not unload cold.

Re: Bug: How to load filament when sensor is off?

Scott.w12 posted the answer from another thread in the forum:
I figured out that turning on the auto load filament, removes the load filament option. But if the sensor is disabled, and autoload is still enabled, the load option is still hidden. Disabling the sensor and autoload brought back the option to manually load. Before I figured that out, I used the manual move on the extruder in the settings to load the filament.

new firmware posted today addresses cold load and i think unload as well. i haven't tried it yet.
