Re: Belt Tension

I've never managed to get them values to change even by adjusting belt tension, 240 +- 40 is what the book says so it should be fine.

Ghosting is caused by to high jerk and acceleration valves, personally I've lowered mine and it really helped

okay i will keep the belts the same, might sound like a noob but how do i change the jerk and acceleration values? on my other printer i could change it within the LCD or in the marlin firmware itself

yes in marlin you can but not the PRUSA folk of marlin. if you look in the slic3r start gcode you can make the adjustment there. I've lowered jerk to 9 and the acceleration a bit (cant remember the value at work now) I also lowered the print speeds.

Right now my X is 272 and my Y is 275, i see some ghosting on my calibration cube. i saw some where 200-280 were good but should i try to get closer to 240?

It appears there might be something wrong with the way those values are measured during self test (I run firmware 3.1.3):

- tensioned to what I'd regard "normal": around 300.
- tensioned *very* tight: 270-280
- tensioned *insanely* tight :-): 260

It is impossible to even get near the documented target values of 240.

I kind of agree with you and in the end tensioned to what seemed reasonable to me, snug but not guitar string tight, For the Y-Axis I used the following belt tensioning set up... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2786671 Now I just ignore the belt status and print happily along...
