You can counter that infill but increasing permitters but I found it made no difference to it, so I found anyway

Yes, Yes and Yes. You can reduce extrusion width or amount for this couple lines.

Yes, Yes and Yes. You can reduce extrusion width or amount for this couple lines.

How would you go about just targeting them few layers? Is that what you mean?

Do you manage to get it without them lines?

In Simplify3D you can define any setting per layer.
I haven't wasted time and money on that. I'm using Benchy to dial in an average good quality for small objects. There are always things to improve but there are always trade offs. That's the beauty of this Benchy.

Your Benchy from the initial screen shots do look already pretty good. Once I hit this quality with a new filament, I'm satisfied. Any other additional tweakings are happening on the model I'm printing.

In Simplify3D you can define any setting per layer.
I haven't wasted time and money on that. I'm using Benchy to dial in an average good quality for small objects. There are always things to improve but there are always trade offs. That's the beauty of this Benchy.

Your Benchy from the initial screen shots do look already pretty good. Once I hit this quality with a new filament, I'm satisfied. Any other additional tweakings are happening on the model I'm printing.

thats True S3D is good for that, Ive had it a while now. i got it when i was using dual extruders on my other printer. only reason im sticking with slic3r now is because of the MMU which should arrive (This year) and wanted to be running top notch before it comes.

the benchy im now printing looks pretty good ill post a picture when its done. Are you using the supplied S3D profile from them of Prusa as a starting point?

Yes, I started with it but went through many iterations. I'm using Hatchbox and Makergeeks brands. HB PLA is really forgiving but MKG PLA need to be on spot. You can see the screen shots from configuration I posted in my linked thread above.

Yeah, everybody likes this filament :-). Too expensive in USA. So you have to find the right settings for you then.

yeah its a shame you cant get UK Brands and we cant get USA brands

Just off the printer...it’s actually looks worse in the picture than it actually is, it’s definitely an improvement using the LA firmware

I wonder if this is an artifact of the early firmware's serial i/o problems that caused octoprint to not work. It was after this that i think they disabled LA while working on the other issues.

Looks good. Would you mind to share what you've done so far to get the improved Benchy? I think here are some MK3 user which can't believe it was printed on MK3 😉

While this was true a while back it is not the case now. I use both V1.0 and V1.5 of LA via Octoprint connected via USB.

Whoever had the idea of the deck infill causing this was correct. I knew it started at the deck layers and was related, but I hadn't considered it might be outward pressure from the infill. Check these two out:

The only settings difference between these two is the top partial benchy was sliced with 0 top layers, effectively disabling the deck infill for this test. Once I saw it was fixed I stopped the print. I don't have time to test tonight and maybe not tomorrow night, can you guys experiment with the Print Settings > Advanced > Infill/perimeters overlap setting? I am wondering if it is pushing these layers outward because things haven't cooled enough, maybe dropping this back 1% at a time until the issue goes away, then test if we're still getting good top layer coverage with no holes?

This one seems pretty important if you ask me. This is probably affecting dimensional accuracy in a way that isn't easily figured out.

Printed this one tonight. E-Sun PETG, Slic3rPE, Default Prusa PET profile, .2 Fast, Honeycomb infill@ 20%, and 150% scale.

I had a feeling it was to do with that after watching the printer do its thing, your LA Firmware really helped the problem so thanks for doing that a sharing it, printing at speeds creates such a pressure in the nozzle and when it slows down to turn onto the next run the plastic has no where to go except up which effects the next layers perimeters causing the problem. I'm assuming it does happen with infill also but doesn't cause an issue due to the extra space inside the model.
