MK2 With HIWIN MGN12
I Recently got some MGN12 HIWIN rails as leftovers from a project. I was wondering if i could in some way get them into my prusa MK2. I guess they will be more effective in the Z axis or in the Y axis. As a test I laser cutted the frame in MDF ( Final model would be Aluminium ) but i noticed that the files on the github are not the same as my MK2 has ( There are some extra holes, and the ones were the PSU screws go arent here ) Were can I find the files that cutted the shipped frame?

I personally have some Hiwin MGN9C2R400Z0CM with appropriate bearings that I'd like to mount on my Y-carriage. I even worked out where the new holes would need to be drilled on the Y-carriage to make them work.
and an 8 inch (200mm) or greater caliper is recommended.

The clone made with 3030 AL profiles might offer a good test bed.

The MK2-X (from the Thingiverse link) uses 2020 extrusion, not 3030 extrusion. I am aware of a Haribo edition that uses 3030 extrusion and discussions of it are being done on the Prusa MK2 slack.

Here is my modification to the Y-carriage to accomodate the MGN9CZ0CM blocks:

Well, I'm pretty sure I have designed it using 3030. 😉
