Material mechanical properties

Hi,
I'm quite new to 3D printing so still trying to find my way round. I find the web and also the forum very helpful. However the only think where I couldn't get much information about, are the mechanical properties of the various materials and at best of the printed parts.
I found the link to the page where the temperature setup for the individual materials are listed, but nothing really to the mechanical material properties.

I can imagine there's ton of factors, that have an influence on the mechanical properties (probably the temperatures used during printing, the layer thickness and orientation, etc...) and of course the materials themselves are also mostly nonlinear.

But I think it would be still very helpful to get at least a very rough hint (order of magnitude) on the E (Youngs Modulus), maximum stress and strain, etc., which can be expected from the printed parts. It would also be very useful to know, what has the biggest influence on these, etc.

I'd be very grateful for any information about this.

PS: The reason why I put this post in "Improvements" is that I see it as an possible improvement for prusa3d Website as a otherwise indeed great source of information. If the admin feels this falls to another category, please feel free to assign th post to the more appropriate one.

Re: Material mechanical properties

Hi!

Right now I'm working on a paper about the influence of different factors on 3d printed structures' strenght. Factors like infill, topology, printing speed and others. The material tested is ABS. I'll publish the results in a month or so.

Re: Material mechanical properties

@josef.d - I am also interested in material properties (stress-strain in pseudo linear especially. Perhaps we can collaborate?

Re: Material mechanical properties

@josef.d - I found a good paper that skirts the issue of interest. Link...
