Extruder Idler Lever Quick Release
Had anyone come up with a "quick release" version of the filament lever/extruder idler? One that allows you to unlock/flop it out of the way without unscrewing the two bolts.
I want to periodically clean the gear, clear an odd clog, fix broken filament, or just change material without needing to readjust the springs.
I guess if the model doesn't exist ill be making it!

To my knowledge such a thing does not exist but boy would it be useful!
Re: Extruder Idler Lever Quick Release
I thought about designing a tool for the job.
A hollow tube that slides over one of the bolts and lets you turn it, and is just the right length so that it touches the idler plastic when the spring length is 13mm. That would allow you to shorten it a bit more before the Allen key disengages.
Anyway, why do you even touch the springs when changing filament?
Re: Extruder Idler Lever Quick Release
I wouldn't always use this when changing filament but it would come in handy when the auto/load unlock sequence doesnt work quite right. Typically this is my fault but I'd like to be able to flop the idler open just the same.
