Re: E3D Hotend Insulators
Is there a way to interactively enter commands? Say from the PC? I read that it is possible to send G-Code across the serial bus. Does this mean I would use a terminal program to do this? And then the results would echo back to the terminal?
I is some time ago that I used anything other than octoprint. There is a Terminal window where the output from the printer shows up. AND there is a textinput where you can send any M/G Command.
I think there must be something like this in Pronterface which comes with the drivers? Of course you need to connect via USB!

Re: E3D Hotend Insulators
Thanks gentlemen!
I am looking forward to all the possibilities when my printer arrives. I have already scheduled a day off so I can build it. 🙂

Re: E3D Hotend Insulators
Hello All,
I just ordered the block/sock upgrade for my MK2. I'd like to tear the machine apart just once since I have new bearings and a replacement bed sheet on the way as well. Hopefully, the kindness of others will be shown this holiday season and elaborate on the tuning requirements by then. My biggest motivator is to get the Y axis parallel and clear that dammed severely skewed message. Wish me luck. My setup prints great, but others tell me it could be better.... Time will tell.

I did do the block and sock upgrade. I also modified the X-carriage so that the complete connector will fit in the space at the bottom. My latest design also eliminates zip ties from the bearings. See my signature for a Live Chat where we've worked with tons of people on making their Y-axis perpendicular.
and an 8 inch (200mm) or greater caliper is recommended.

Thank you ayourk. Is your design posted anywhere? I just joined the chat. Looks like a good resource.

Re: E3D Hotend Insulators
I have ordered no socks since I tweaked my Genuine Mk2 Prusa I3 Printer. I have since looked, and E3D is onto a winner that I could not get hold of. Meanwhile my Genuine Prusa I3 MK2 prints are perfect for me. 🙂
