Combo LED Light & Spool Holder for Prusa i3

I’ve been really pleased with my ‘Improved Prusa Spool Holder’ but after a couple of months I realised I needed something else... I also wanted a light to do justice to my timelapses so I went back to the drawing board to combine the Spool holder with an led light and after a couple of months use and some design improvements it’s now ready for all you Prusa i3 users out there!

I've posted it on thingiverse here:-
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2405360

And I also made video showing it off as well as a 'how to' on youtube here:-

As with the improved spool holder ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2395279 ) I’ve done away with having to detach the arms each time you change a spool and I’ve incorporated a removable spool spindle that easily locks in with a satisfying snap!
It’s simple to put together so if you can solder a wire and use a hacksaw then you’ll find this a piece of cake… even better, the parts cost under $10 which is awesome given the results. I’ve included links to the parts in the linked descriptions.

➡ thumbs up
and a nice youtube tutorial as well. looks very professional :ugeek:

i think i'm going to use the same idea for my homemade clone, because the genuine i3 MK2 is still waiting for the multi material upgrade kit (which hopefully will be delivered next month).

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Thanks for the youtube thumbs up Jeff!

I put a little extra effort in that video to encourage people to make the upgrade. I normally find myself making 'upgrades' to my 3D designs over time but this one has stood the test of time.
