Cable management for MK2S

Hi

Here is the new part:

Just as a data point, it would be cool if the steel piece could be moved 2mm away from the middle as to not interfere with the autohome procedure now that the cable bundle is thicker w/ the new black piece.

For reference, I did the fix below when my fan went out ( the image is upside down). It has been working for about a month so far, but initially the bundle was hitting the z-axis frame. The copper on the top and bottom is taken from the stuff used for house AC electrical wiring.

For reference, my solution was inspired by another user on this forum as shown below.

Also, it looks like this solution (below) would offer two benefits (but I know it must have had issue since the image is from Prusa):

1) Better viewing of the 1st Layer

2) Reducing wire stress

I am hoping that one of the thousands of designers who have the MK2 will get inspired to remix this solution as it looks elegant but I know that the devil is in the details. If anyone is playing with this idea and willing to share, please post your TinkerCad designs.

Hi,

where did you find that blower design. Was looking for something like that. Still not good designer to do it myself i guess.

Thanks

Re: Cable management for MK2S

That was the original Mk1 blower arrangement.
it originally used ABS filament as support for the wiring.

My abs wiring support filament fractured just outside the plastic fan mount, and had to be replaced... the second ABS filament length lasted until my Mk2 Upgrade arrived...

the Nylon reinforcement for my Mk2 didn't arrive so I used PTFE tube. which was still working when I updated the extruder. so I replaced the PTFE with 3mm nylon and this is still in the printer...

i hope to get the gcode for the new parts for my second printer which is awaiting building. so it will be a Mk2 1/s
hybrid...

best wishes Joan

Is there already a version for cable chains available somewhere?
