0.9° stepper motors
I was considering buying a set of steppers with 0.9° step angles after reading this article: http://hackaday.com/2016/07/06/build-a-3d-printer-workhorse/
Most of the recommended features are standard on the MK2, which is awesome. The one glaring difference is the stepper motor step angle. Has anyone here had any experience with this sort of upgrade? I understand what I need to do physically, and can reason about the firmware easily enough - I'm just wondering if the upgrade will produce any tangible difference in print quality?

As far as I am aware, the biggest benefit of utilising motors with smaller steps is to do away with potential inaccuracies introduced by microstepping. A 0.9 degree step motor will still require the use of microsteps and the benefits of such may be dubious.
Also the motors supplied with this printer have a 2 Amp capability. I am unsure how the motors you link to will cope.
The other downside is that those motors will only turn at half the speed of the 1.8 degree motors, and may not be suitable for X or Y.
Having said all the above, I think the biggest advantage would be with the extruder; doubling the number of steps there would bring accuracy benefits.
