Y-Axis Variation

Hi,

I've had great luck with my Prusa MK3 for the last year or so (though haven't done a *ton* of printing), but am now running into variation on the Y-axis.

For a few prints it was only doing it after it once it got about 3/4" up in Z-height, but sometimes it does it all the time.

I'm a bit of a newbie at tweaking things to make fixes, so could somebody suggest what I should try and/or a relevant thread (I looked, but couldn't find any).

Could it be that the belt is slipping and I just need to tighten it?

Thanks,

Todd

Y shift, but it returns back to average correct rather than continuing further and further off kilter.

I would check the y-motor pulley. A loose grub screw that is losing contact with the shaft flat as it heats up would look like this. Good while cool but heat loosens it up and you begin shifting Y back and forth.

Hey Guy,

I tightened those set screws and that seems to have fixed the problem! Thanks so much.
