White prusament = disappointment and problems
Got some white PLA prusament ,the material looks very good.
Shortly after starting using it I noticed it is a somewhat different than the silver one - it's more sticky and I experienced an extruder jam with it.
I looked around and found other complaints about that filament.
It sometimes sticks randomly to the metal around the nozzle and gets carried around all over the print ruining an otherwise great looking print.
Would not recommend this thing, stay away 😥
Re: White prusament = disappointment and problems
I actually had a bit of a breakthrough last night with my prusament. I think the filament is softer than other pla brands. I have to leave my enclosure doors open, if they are closed eventually heat creep causes jams and clogs. Since I started leaving the doors cracked I haven't had any issues so far.

I don't have an enclosure but I still get that "heat creep" thing. It was pointed by others that at low print speeds this specific filament is rather unstable. The grey one was great, just get a nice first layer and leave it alone.
I guess I'd use it for quicker "mechanical" prints.
The "David" sculpture I did with it looks great, even though it's missing its elbow...you can't really see layer lines. But it's a risky thing to leave the machine overnight with it.
Re: White prusament = disappointment and problems
Ah sorry, just thought I would give my input. I have the galaxy black, mystic brown, and azure blue. I did see that issue with retractions, but between printing at a lower temp and opening my enclosure I was able to get it to work.
I have actually avoided my prusament because of this issue, I have had it happen on every spool of it. But now that I am figuring out the material I will keep trying it to see if I can get it to work. The colors are just too cool not to use.
Re: White prusament = disappointment and problems
Yup, the third benchie (left to right) that is just a base, displays exactly the same as what I had.
So what temps did you use to get around this?
Re: White prusament = disappointment and problems
The third one is kind of an intentional failure, I was adjusting the temperatures up and down to see where it would stop to extrude. I ended up with 220C for the first layer and 210 for the others. I do have a hardened steel nozzle though so adjust accordingly.
Re: White prusament = disappointment and problems
I see, thanks.
