Weird filament curling in layer interiors
I'm not sure how to accurately describe the problem I'm having and can't find it in our 3D Printing Failures book. My best description would be that threads of filament appears to be curling up within the interior of large layer prints. It starts this way on layer 2 and by layer 3 it's significant enough to be globbing onto the nozzle.
Small prints, such as benchy at 40 or 50mm length, have printed fine. But larger prints with signficant x/y area are having the problem. I've attached a photo to help explain it. I'm not sure where to start tweaking; should I adjust speed, acceleration, temperature?
Thanks in advance for any help
RE: Weird filament curling in layer interiors
Good Morning Matthew,
Is this also happenning with the pre sliced models, such as the prusa logo or the baterang?

joantabb - I don't have those; is there a place to download them? (I didn't find on the Prusa site download pages)
RE: Weird filament curling in layer interiors
OK, I found the batarang model (here: https://www.prusa3d.com/printable-3d-models/ ) and am testing right now. I also washed both my build plates, in case the PEI had gotten dirty/oily.
RE: Weird filament curling in layer interiors
Batarang printed fine, and reprinting the original model that had trouble is also now printing fine. More bafflement ensues around here - no idea why it failed so significantly before and the same is printing fine now, but happy that it is.
