Uneven X and Y Surfaces

i3MK3 has been printing very good for about a year.  Recently the vertical surfaces on both X and Y have been coming out uneven. I have attached pics of the 20mm cube.  The filament is Overture PLA and printed with the Prusament PLA settings.  I have gone through the printer checking all nuts and bolts, pully's, belts and set up wizzard.  I also changed to a new nozzle and no changes.  I have searched for this issue in the forum and have posted to groups in Facebook but no luck.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!!

Do the axes move smoothly when you push them by hand?

Have you lubricated the smooth rods?

Cheerio,

The rods are lubricated.  When moved by hand the movement is good but there is a couple places where it kind of grabs and requires more pressure to move.

Different  filament?

Different temperature?

Slower printing?

it kind of grabs and requires more pressure

That could be enough to cause your irregularities.  You need to find the reason...

Check belt, motor (and pulley) and idler.  Turn the motor by hand and feel for the grating of a failed bearing.

If no result feel each of the linear bearings as you move the axes you are looking for grating/vibration.

And make sure your print bed fixings are not overtight.

Cheerio,

I changed to prusament PLA filament.  I did not change any of the Prusa Slicer settings.  The cube came out perfect.  So I am guessing I will have to experiment with the settings, temperatures, speeds, etc... to get the other filament to print good?
