Unable to add supports in an area

This is my first attempt to build something in OpenCad and print it.  It is a simple box with small legs at each corner.

The results are good except that the underside of the box is very stringy.

assume that this is because supports are only being added around the edges of the underside, meaning the middle portion of the underside is unsupported.

I've tried:

  1. Supports=Everywhere
  2. Supports="For support enforcers only" while adding a support enforcer box completely covering the lower half of the box.

I've also spent hours fiddling with all the settings without actually understanding them, but lets just ignore that.  The screenshots were created after rolling back all changes and re-starting with a clean slate.

So am I correct in assuming the lack of supports is the problem?  If so how do I force Prusaslicer to add supports in this area?

I tried to add the images as thumbnails, but couldn't figure out how, so sorry about that

You have to turn off the option dont support bridges.  Make sure Support Material>Dont Support Bridges is unticked.

When you use an enforcer all you are telling slicer is to apply the support algorithm to the areas of the model that intersect with the enforcer.  If the algorithm is still set to not support bridge areas then it wont add the support.

Even with supports the bottoms are never going to be nice.  To be flat they would need to be squished on to a nice flat surface.  Even if the printed supports were smooth the act of squishing them down would make support removal almost impossible.  btw if you want supports that dont stick like , well melted plastic, then you need to have the Contact Z distance to be at least 0.2 instead of the default 0.1.  But feel free to experiment with the settings to form your own conclusions.

Would you provide an STL or 3mf (projekt) file of your component so that I can test it in PS?

karl-herbert:  Thanks for taking the time to try and help me.  Here is my stl .  I guessed that I should upload it to the prints area, publish and link here, if that is not standard practice, please let me know.
