TPU first layer

So last week I bought my first roll of TPU. Did a small mod to the extruder to prevent any looping or jamming and made a few successful prints with the TPU.
Now I'am trying to print a stamp and I'm having a lot of trouble getting the first layer right. This is not a problem for the rest of the model since the TPU adheres so well (cold bed right on the PEI, did it on the blue tape before but it removes well enough like this to allow it), but when printing stamp, an uneven layer defeats the whole point of printing it.

Anybody any idea on what to do?
Temp 220, .2mm layer height, first layer 15mm/s, bed off, retract off
Raising temp leads to bubbling (apparantly this TPU does not print wel above 230 and does the 'boiling' PETG does when overheated; this actually aggravates the problem)
Lowering temp doesn't make much of a difference

As you can see, the extrusion sometimes suddenly stops and drops down tiny droplets of TPU instead of a normal amount.
TIA!
