Hello,

My MK3 has been running awesomely since 2018. It printed thousands of masks to fight the pandemic. 

It got the upgrade to MK3S  

Lately, it started failing, especially on 3+ hours PETG prints. After a long investigation, I found that the extruder motor was guilty. One internal bearing (the one on the idler side) was broken. 

It is just incredible that the print quality was not worsened more than that 😳

As I had to wait for the motor to arrive, I took the time to replace the linear bearings and the rods. I had the replacement waiting on a box since months. Some of my rod had grooves in them. 

After dismantling the rods and the extruder and reassembling everything, I thought it would a good idea to have a standard object to print, time stamp and store somewhere for later comparison. 

At Prusa, do you have a special recommendation or should I just use a benchy or a treefrog. 

The goal is not to run torture tests but rather have a check mark on what the printer did at a moment in time. 

All prints would be done with the same filament type, brand and colour.
