sudden blobs on print

I have looked through most topics and have not come across a complete solution, can anyone please help.

I bought my MK3S printer almost 4 years ago. I am using prusaslicer 2.7.4 with prusament PLA settings.

Up until 5 months ago I have always printed with the standard settings and temperatures and never changed the seam postition, it was never a problem.

All of a sudden I had a line on a print, after reading different forums I changed the seam settings to Nearest and Random, result is shown in the attached photo.

I have lowered nozzle temperature and speed. I have changed settings Retraction length and speed, Retract before wipe. I experimented with Paint On Seams. Result did not change much, blobs still visable. I have also replaced the hotend and Bondtech gears just in case. I have tried different PLA rolls of filament.

See also attached config file.

Thanking all replies in advance, David Chambers.

That looks like a combination of random seams and damp filament.

Cheerio,

Hi Diem, thanks for the feedback. I have tried new rolls of filament as well without change.

You are correct, I changed the setting from Aligned to random because with Aligned I had a thick line along the shoulder and neck.

Strange the I did not notice this until a few months ago.

New is not certain to be dry - yes, it was packed dry (probably) but how long was it on the warehouse shelf?  How was it treated in transit?

Quite a lot of new filament needs drying before use.
