[SOLVED] Possible to use Tune>Change Filament mid-print while printing from external source (Octoprint)?

Hey, I have a 14 hour print going right now, and I'm considering making the top bit a different color. If I were printing from the SD card, I'd feel confident about using the Tune > Change Filament via the MK3S LCD screen. However, I am using my Raspberry pi B+ running Octoprint to print through USB.

Will the Change filament function work properly in this case?

Will it interfere with Octoprint's ability to complete the print? Can Octoprint resume the print at the correct location? I'm worried Octoprint might see it as a timeout and disconnect or it sending gcode without the printer being able to receive it during the filament change.

I've searched for answers via Google and the forum, but examples are either doing it with complicated gcode commands in octoprint, or are not specifying if they are using the SD card. I am looking for a confirmation that the Change Filament function works when printing from an external computer.

My pi has mostly default settings for timeouts and such.
My MK3S is running 3.5.3

[Solved]
I went ahead and tried it, and it worked fine!
I did nothing in Octoprint to pause or anything. All I did was use the LCD panel control to Tune > Change filament and followed instructions. The print resumed in the correct spot and Octoprint didn't have any trouble with it.

Make sure to clear away any filament leakage as it's navigating back to the spot it left off at.

Awesome.  I appreciate this post very much.  Had the exact same issue.  Your post answered my question.  That works very slick indeed.  I have a bunch of reels with say 10 meters or less of filament left from making face shield headbands.  Would like to use them on something fun and just print them up.  This will let me do that.

Wanted to thank you as well! I found this through google after running into the same situation. Worked like a charm and finished the last few layers of my print flawlessly.

I have had a lot of issues with OctoPrint when it comes to recovery and I have almost given up on it entirely, especially if I have my MMU2S plugged in. Thankfully I modded my MMU2S so I can plug it in/out, though I can't take credit for the idea. I have an 8-pin M12 port on top of my modified Einsy case that I added. Makes maintenance a breeze and I can always unplug it and swap to the single mode spool holder if needed.
