Shifted layer

Hello printing fans,

for some reason the whole layers shifted in my print of 12 identical sorting boxes, making them unusable in their grid.

Did the motor jump a few steps for it to happen or was there maybe an error in the G-Code?

I might have forgotten to eject the USB adapter for the SD-Card in Windows before unplugging it, could that be the reason for it?

Sadly I can't supply any data of the print as it is part of a paid data pack.

Thanks for any help in advance and stay safe, folks!

Best regards,

Andre

RE: Shifted layer

Hi Mini,

were thee any collisions?

Sometimes when there is a collision, the X or Y axis fails to fully reset and this can cause a layer shift.

this could be X axis backplate tight, Cable tie ends touching something behind the X axis, or lack of lubrication

try moving the X axis by hand.  see if it moves smoothly from end to end of travel, and that nothing obstructs travel

regards Joan

Id also check the x axis pulley grub screw is still tight on the flat.  A small shift like that is a classic symptom of a loose pulley.

RE: Shifted layer

Thank you so much for your help!

I stopped the print to not waste any more filament so I couldn't check for collisions.

I will have a look into said possible issues 🙂
