Settings for decent supports? (why not like other software by default!)

One oddity I've always found (indeed others have by forum posts) is PrusaSlicer (and PrusaSlic3r before it) has terrible default settings for supports - ie they're much too solid and rarely come off without having to hack away.

Other software (eg Cura, S3d etc) this seems to work perfectly first time - I've no idea why other software produces decent supports first time on their Mk3 profiles when Prusa themselves can't, but hey!

Can someone advise best settings to get it working properly?

I increased the z gap to 0.25mm and have no problems with removal. I'm not doing detailed miniatures or anything like that though. For larger parts, the support do work well.

Thanks bobstro - and just to be clear as the names are different, do you mean Contact Z distance? (in which case yes, I've done that also and agree it's improved, I just don't know why it isn't like that as default as everyone seems to have to do this!)
