Prusament PETG - stringing, some blobs & removing supports

Hi Guys,

I'm getting some issues printing parts using Prusament PETG. It's my first time printing PETG and the results have not been great. I was using the built-in Prusament PETG settings and printing using a freshly opened spool so no moisture issues.

My parts are covered in a stringy fluff and where the PLA print was smooth it's rough where the nozzle is leaving the print and moving somewhere else.

Also the supports are crazy difficult to remove.

Any settings I need to adjust to fix the stringing and support removal? Or anything I need to do to the printer when switching from PLA to PETG to stop the stringing?

Thanks

Pictures?

It's most likely to be moisture despite the filament being newly opened but we can't tell anything without evidence.

Cheerio.

Of course, here are some pictures - I have removed some of the stringing by hand (before taking the photo sadly) but am currently printing a stringing test to see how that fares. I will put the material in a drier as well to see if that helps and then retest.

By the look of it drying will make a significant difference.

Cheerio,

Thanks I’ll get it drying now and report back. Here’s a short test print to further illustrate the issue.
