Prusament Galaxy Black delamination

I decided to use Galaxy Black PETG for this project but it is suffering from serious delamination. This is printed on the MK3S using the Prusament PETG profile with 15% gyroid infill, 3 perimeters, 8 top and bottom layers using the 0.4mm hardened nozzle. My primary printer use is for engineering projects and have been doing so for 8 years and I now use PETG exclusively. Normally I have no issues and do test prints for all new filaments but this time I didn't(!), expecting the normal consistently good Prusament results. I have experienced this effect with a cheap glitter filament and old stock Edge; I spent time investigating the previous glitter filament and came to the conclusion that, despite temperature tweaks and other ruses. it was not worth the effort and binned it. The results here with Galaxy Black are identical and I am reluctant to bin an expensive reel, so some other thoughts to a solution would be welcome. The model in question has no undue stress loading but does need to stay together! It is a mini saw table and can be seen on Onshape by searching for saw table; it is still in the development stage but, except for minor tweaks, is complete.

RE: Prusament Galaxy Black delamination

I would turn up the heat, If your printing with a hardened nozzle you'll want to turn it up 5 or 10C just for that, and then you factor in the Prusament, most of their profiles come in low for there filament ( meaning they aren't high enough by default) IMO. I would print their PETG in the 250C plus range minimum, and have printed certain ones as high as 265C, YMMV

An example of prusament PETG Carmine Red printed at 265C on a textured bed.

@swiss_cheese

Thanks. Yes, I knew that and had shifted the temperature by +5C. I'll try +10. My concern is that normally this issue manifests itself as interlayer weakness across the whole structure but not in this case. I knew I should have tested first but impatience got the better of me as I need the saw table for another project before Christmas. I'm old enough to know better!

RE: Prusament Galaxy Black delamination

I have been printing structurally loaded parts from mainly PETG (Pursment Galaxy Black) on my Prusa i3 MK3 for the past 3 years. I found that, as long as overhangs are still OK, you can crank up the temperature A LOT to improve layer adhesion. I went all the way up to 290°C and have eventually settled for 280°C.

Also, I have been printing in an enclosure giving the part ~50°C of ambient temperature, but I got great results even before I did that.
